Brooklyn-based and woman-owned, Catbird is a jewelry design and manufacturing company that specializes in boutique style jewelry. In addition to working with jewelry designers from around the world, Catbird designs and manufactures its own line, making all pieces locally and with ethically sourced materials and conflict-free stones.
Founded by Rony Vardi in 2004, Catbird started in a small shop in Williamsburg. In 2006, it moved to its Bedford Avenue location, out of which it currently operates; recently, Catbird opened a second location, a retail wedding annex, on Driggs Avenue.
While retaining these two Williamsburg locations, Catbird will expand operations to a 1300-square-foot space on Building 77’s ninth floor, where it will design, manufacture, and distribute products. Dedicated to a return to local manufacturing, Catbird currently employs over 30 community residents, with plans to hire more.
