Joyce Duverce
Joyce Duverce, a proud Brooklynite, brings over 15 years of nonprofit and government administration experience to her role as Senior Vice President of Impact and Partnerships at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. In this capacity, she oversees business development, fundraising, special events, and cultural affairs programming while championing the advancement of the MWBE growth strategy.
Before joining BNYDC, Joyce served as the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships & Special Initiatives at the Department of Community Development. There, she spearheaded citywide social impact campaigns, facilitated youth development activations, curated intergenerational community programming, conducted adult training, and led MWBE initiatives.
With a background as the Director of Advancement at Brooklyn Friends School, Joyce focused on fundraising and major gifts initiatives. Her journey has come full circle as she joins the Yard, having been born and raised in Brooklyn herself. Her family settled in the vibrant Caribbean neighborhood of East Flatbush after immigrating from Haiti, where her mother worked as a factory worker at BNY before pursuing a career in the service industry.
Joyce holds a BA in psychology and an MBA in international business from Long Island University. She continues to reside in and contribute to the thriving community of Brooklyn, committed to amplifying opportunities, industries, and equity programs for both new and existing Yard businesses.
