The Albert C. Wiltshire Employment Center recruits qualified candidates for positions within the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a 300-acre industrial park housing over 400+ businesses within the manufacturing, food, media, technology, and creative field.
A Brooklyn Navy Yard company is seeking a full-time Ceramic Fabricator who is passionate about working with clay, and has the ability to excel in a fast paced, manufacturing work environment.
The perfect candidate possesses strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills and enjoys repetitive hand-building work. This is an exciting, hands-on opportunity for someone with a desire to see through a production from start to finish with a passion for home goods, lighting and ceramics industry.
Responsibilities:
+ Create hand-built and slip-casted ceramic products from start to finish across the entire product line.
+ Preparing and assembling production ceramics using hand-building and slab-building techniques.
+ Fabricating ceramic products with precision while accounting for consistency, low loss rate and meeting daily production numbers.
+ Working collaboratively within the Fabrication department and cross-departmentally as needed.
+ Detail oriented, confident in basic arithmetic, strong communication skills.

Requirements:

+ Must enjoy physical work along with the ability to stand 2-3 hours at a time.
+ Are able to sit and stand for long periods of time, utilize hands and arms in a variety of positions with a wide range of grip strength and manual dexterity, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
