Facilities Manager

Job Title: Facilities Manager

A Yard-based fabrication and custom installation studio is looking for a high-energy, enthusiastic, self motivated, and organized individual to manage our main production facility. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that the physical offices and facilities are operating in a manner consistent with a safe and healthy work environment. The candidate must have prior experience in the field, be used to working on their feet, solving problems as they arise, and be tech savvy enough to maintain maintenance logs digitally. This position requires daily interaction with vendors and internal staff at all levels and coordinating / ensuring organizational processes and procedures are followed.

Most importantly, this person must have professional integrity, be trustworthy, mature, and capable of handling confidential information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • General facilities maintenance/cleanliness
  • Waste management systems
  • Utility maintenance
  • HVAC maintenance
  • Compressed air system maintenance
  • Facility upgrade projects
  • Property security
  • Develop and uphold new systems for the preventative maintenance and care of the facility.
  • Prioritize and complete facilities-related tasks in a timely manner.
  • Conduct weekly facility audits.
  • Manage and coordinate all contracted work for the facility.
  • Work with the Safety Officer to maintain safe working conditions for the company.
  • Keep an open line of communication with the Operations Manager and Facilities Team.
  • Keep records of all maintenance-related tasks completed on the building.
  • Prepare facility for changing weather conditions
  • Schedule:
    – Supply up to 12 hours of Facility coverage a day
    – Maintains flexibility in work schedule to accommodate occasional weekend, early morning, and evening project completion

 

Supervise a team consisting of:

  • (2) Shop Porters
  • (1) Shop Technician
  • (1) Shop Handyman

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • 5 years of work experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency with repair tools and techniques
  • Excellent time management
  • Strong written and verbal communicator
  • Forklift certification
  • Background in
    – Plumbing
    – HVAC
    – General repair
    – Electrical

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift over 50lbs
  • Can stand on feet for extended periods of time
  • Able to work in variable temperatures (hot / cold)
