Areas of Responsibility

 The Human Resources Assistant provides assistance within the HR department. 

  • Performs customer service functions by responding to employee requests and questions
  • Maintains employees personnel files
  • Updates recruitment database
  • Schedules interviews for open positions
  • Completes telephone pre-screenings with candidates
  • Coordinates interviews with candidates
  • Keeps track of time sheets for all intern programs
  • Conducts pre-employment screenings
  • Updates data in HRIS
  • All other tasks as assigned by Human Resources team 

Required Skills and Abilities 

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Experience managing HRIS, a plus
  • Experience working with Union and Non-Union environments a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills 


  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
