• Build and maintain strong partnerships with employers by proactively developing new relationships and maintaining existing ones through regular, thoughtful communication
  • Work with tenants, and other local employers, to understand their hiring needs within the context of their overall business and industry
  • Work with employers to identify immediate job openings, training needs, and longer term hiring plans
  • Set the strategy for sourcing candidates for each open job opening, with a focus on delivering quality and speed to businesses
  • Work closely with the businesses throughout the search process providing consistent communication and incredible client service, balancing multiple processes simultaneously
  • Develop partnerships with other workforce and training organizations that prepare individuals for success within targeted industries
  • Support Employment Support team to identify, vet, and prepare job seekers for identified job openings
  • Synthesize emerging trends across employers to identify opportunities for customized training and recruitment strategies and other additional support services for businesses
  • As needed, manage customized training and recruitment strategies
  • Track and measure the success of business partnerships with data including communication, job openings, placements, and retention

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Commitment and alignment to the vision of the Employment Center and BNYDC, and a passion for connecting job seekers to economic opportunity, and providing businesses needed talent
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build relationships with a diverse set of employers, job seekers, and partners.
  • Strong project management skills, with an ability to manage tasks and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects and organize time and priorities.
  • Experience working with small and medium sized businesses and an understanding of their needs and challenges, especially in the human resources realm
  • Ability to build and manage partnerships with other organizations
  • Experience managing hiring and recruitment processes
  • Ability to track and analyze data
  • High level of integrity, trust, accountability, and judgment


  • 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • A four-year college degree or additional, commensurate relevant work experience
  • Bilingual a plus  
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends
