The Brooklyn Navy Yard (the Yard) is a mission-driven industrial park that is a nationally acclaimed model of the viability and positive impact of modern, urban industrial development. Encompassing 300 acres on the Brooklyn waterfront, the Yard is now home to over 330 businesses employing seven thousand people.  In the midst of its largest expansion in generations, the Yard will add nearly 2.5mm SF or real estate and 17 thousand jobs in the next five years.

The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC) is the not-for-profit corporation that serves as the real estate developer and property manager of the Yard on behalf of its owner, The City of New York (the "City").  BNYDC constantly strives to provide an environment in which businesses and careers can take root and grow.

Construction Project Manager

The Project Manager of the Design & Construction Department is responsible for managing some of the various development and construction projects currently in the Yard’s $300M ten-year capital budget.

Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

BNYDC is seeking a highly talented Chief Financial Officer with experience in real estate to provide direct support to the CEO and President and assume a strategic role in the overall financial and operational management of the company. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CFO is responsible for overseeing development of strategy and the day-to-day operations of the finance department and purchasing. S/he will work with the CEO, support the Board of Directors and its Finance Committee, and participate in deliberations as appropriate. The CFO values the vision, mission, and strategic direction of the organization, and will ensure that the company meets the highest standards of financial integrity. BNYDC’s finance department is in a period of growth and evolution. Over the course of the next year a new financial management system will be brought on line and all business processes within the department will be modernized. The CFO will play the critical leadership role in this transition.

Executive Director of Exhibits & Programs

The Executive Director of Programs & Exhibits plays a critical role in messaging on behalf of the Navy Yard by telling the Yard’s story, celebrating Navy Yard tenants and facilitating community connection through public, cultural, and educational programming, tours and special events. The Executive Director oversees the Brooklyn Navy Yard Center at BLDG 92 and works closely with BNYDC External Affairs in driving traffic to BLDG 92, activating it as a venue and establishing it as a resource for BNYDC, Yard tenants and the community.

Senior Director of Maintenance - Brooklyn, NY

The Senior Director of Maintenance provides coordination, management, and supervision toward the efficient operation of the maintenance staff, who are responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance; routine and major alteration; renovation, and repair of all BNYDC occupied and unoccupied buildings and grounds; roadway, sidewalks, water, sewer, steam, HVAC, elevators and fire protection systems.

Archives - Cataloging Intern

The BNYDC Archives seeks an intern to participate in a large scale digitization and cataloging project. Under the supervision of the BNYDC Archivist, the intern will assist in processing a collection containing architectural and engineering plans from the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s history. The intern will arrange and inventory plans currently housed in flat file cabinets. In addition, the intern is expected to scan and catalog plans in the Archives’ digital asset management system, hosted by CollectiveAccess.
