The Project Manager of the Asset Management Department is responsible for managing various development and construction projects currently in the Yard’s $250M ten-year capital budget. In addition, the department is responsible for management and oversight of the $60M Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (“FEMA’s”) Public Assistance (“PA”) Program for Disaster DR-4085.
Vice President of Property Management
The Brooklyn Navy Yard (the Yard) is a mission-driven industrial park that is a national model of the viability and positive impact of modern, urban industrial development. The Yard is a 300 acre site on the Brooklyn waterfront, and is now home to over 330 businesses employing more than 7,000 people, with over 3.5 million sf of real estate and over 30+ buildings. The Yard is in a period of significant growth, with four active development sites that will nearly double our real estate to over 6 million sf over the next 3 years. The Vice-President of Property Management will be a critical addition to the Yard’s management team as we grow over the next few years and will be responsible for all phases of the property management operation at the Yard. This includes oversight of the maintenance and property management teams with a primary focus on day-to-day operational management, planning and staffing and ability to set goals and execute projects with a large interdisciplinary team.
Visitor Services Associate
The mission of Brooklyn Navy Yard Center at BLDG 92 is to celebrate the Navy Yard’s past, present, and future and promote the role the Yard and its tenants play as an engine for sustainable urban industrial growth. Through a comprehensive exhibit, public tours, educational programs, archival resources, and workforce development services, BLDG 92 reinforces its unique bonds with the community and inspires future generations to become industrial innovators and entrepreneurs. The BLDG 92 Visitor Services Associate (VSA) welcomes, guides and assists BLDG 92 visitors and provides support on projects to promote programs within the community and to enhance visitor experience. The VSA serves as the public face of the Brooklyn Navy Yard through BLDG 92 and must be customer-service and retail-oriented with strong interpersonal and organizational skills. This position reports to the Visitor Services Manager.
Vice President of External Affairs
The Vice President of External Affairs leads the department and is tasked with raising the visibility of the Yard; securing grant funding from government and philanthropy; developing and executing marketing and public affairs strategies; maintaining positive and productive partnerships with government representatives and community groups; overseeing tenant/business support services; overseeing the operations of all public programming at Building 92 and across the Yard; and building strategic partnerships.
The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (“BNYDC”), a not-for-profit corporation that manages and develops the Brooklyn Navy Yard as an urban industrial park, is seeking an attorney to join its legal team as Counsel. The Office of the General Counsel currently consists of a General Counsel, Assistant General Counsel and Counsel. We are seeking to add a new lawyer who will report to the General Counsel.
Program Assistant (Part-Time)
The Program Assistant is a key support staff member for the Brooklyn Navy Yard Employment Center. In this role, the Program Assistant will support the efforts of the Employment Center and will be responsible for data entry, accurate tracking and reporting of program participants and employer clients utilizing Excel and Salesforce. This is a great position for a highly organized, detail oriented self-starter to learn about all aspects of workforce development. The position is part-time 20 hours per week and reports to the Executive Director, Workforce Development.
