The security officer will ensure the safety and security of visitors, tenants, and employees at the Brooklyn Navy Yard while providing excellent customer service at various posts throughout the Navy Yard.
Exhibits and Programs Intern
The Brooklyn Navy Yard Center at BLDG 92 seeks an energetic and organized intern to play a key supporting role on curatorial projects during a transformative period. BLDG 92 is a unique exhibition and visitor center and the public gateway to the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Through exhibitions, tours, and cultural and education programs, BLDG 92 celebrates the past, present and future of the Yard. Building on its service as the nation’s premiere naval industrial facility for 165 years, the Yard is now home to the greatest concentration of manufacturing and green businesses in New York City. BLDG 92 captures this extraordinary legacy in a 7,000 sq. ft. permanent exhibit and shines a spotlight on the Yard today in a new gallery, Yard Work, opening in early 2017. In addition to programming at BLDG 92, this internship position will support on Yard-wide creative placemaking and public art initiatives. The internship program will run from January to May 2017.
Senior Director of Maintenance
The Senior Director of Maintenance provides coordination, management, and supervision toward the efficient operation of the maintenance staff, who are responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance; routine and major alteration; renovation, and repair of all BNYDC occupied and unoccupied buildings and grounds; roadway, sidewalks, water, sewer, steam, HVAC, elevators and fire protection systems.
Construction Project Manager
The Construction Project Manager of the Design & Construction Department is responsible for some management and oversight of the $60M Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (“FEMA’s”) Public Assistance (“PA”) Program for Disaster DR-4085 and in addition, for managing some of the various development and construction projects currently in the Yard’s $250M ten-year capital budget.
The Project Manager is responsible for managing various infrastructure and utility upgrade projects in the Yard’s capital budget, as well as management and oversight of the electrical substation and steam generating plant portion of a $60M Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (“FEMA’s”) Public Assistance (“PA”) Program for Disaster DR-4085.
